Roadworks for Beechwood Avenue and Styvechale Avenue

Beechwood Ave-Styvechale AveResidents around Beechwood Avenue and Styvechale Avenue have received letters from Coventry City Council to warn of potential disruption while work is carried out to install new highway gullies and kerb drains.

The work will be carried out for approximately three weeks from 1 September, between the hours of 7.30am and 4.30pm. More details are in the letter, opposite.

It has been made clear by the Council that while it would be helpful if Beechwood Avenue could be avoided while the work takes place, the road will remain open with traffic subject to delays.

Dan Gascoigne launches new album

Dan Gascoigne - Blind Duty coverCoventry musician Dan Gascoigne, who performs regularly in the ECHO area, releases his second album, Blind Duty with a show at the Nursery Tavern, Lord Street on Saturday 29 August.

Dan has spent the last year working on the album in his front room using acoustic guitar, voice and a vocal effects pedal.  Combining new guitar tunings, a more aggressive vocal approach than previously and playing styles ranging from fingerpicking to heavy strumming, he has produced a more upbeat sound than on his début, last year’s Station Street West.

The launch gig starts at 8pm and support comes from Little Bird.
