A petition has been set up calling for a pedestrian crossing near to the junction of Beechwood Avenue and Rochester Road. It’s sponsored by Earlsdon Ward Councillor Allan Andrews and can be signed on the Coventry City Council website.

The Albany Club hosts a fundraising event from 8pm on Thursday 15 October, in support of those who are helping refugees on the Greek island of Lesbos. Community weed-pull and litter-pick
Saturday 10 October sees the annual Hearsall Earlsdon weed-pull and litter-pick. The organisers say: “Don’t be shy, pitch in and help out! Meet your neighbours, have a laugh and brighten things up.” Participants should meet up at 10am on the corner of Broomfield Road and Melbourne Road, when there will be a safety briefing.
